Actually. Koenigsegg Regera is coupled with three electric motors that help the car to run without a gearbox Read More
They have developed an entirely new drive train for this car and it’s one of the most technically advanced cars in the world Koenigsegg said they will make 80 regera. so it’s a limited production car for more information read this article until the end. and please share this post.
Regera is a hybrid megacar designed for touring with all the necessary modern luxury features and its expensive cost is over $ 2 million. Besides this is the 1st car that runs with a single-gear drive ratio. Read More
This company also features an auto skin function that allows the car to open all doors, trunk and hood at the press of a single bottom on the key fab.
Koenigsegg launched this Regera back in 2016 and only 80 regera cars will be made.
So first check out the front part of the car that is unique in many ways and lots of engineering solutions consumed to develop the Regera front portion. Read More
When you look at the front you will find some round and smooth curves around the bonnet and on the bumper and the Koenigsegg logo is stuck to the very front of the car & personally, I like the wrap-around windscreen of the car because it makes this car looks unique. Read More
On the bumper there are a couple of winglets provided to generate the downforce and active flaps are also provided to cool the engine radiator because it’s mounted up front to get the desired cooling.
Second thing, Koenigsegg Regera has four cameras all around but the front camera is hidden. now you might be thinking where is the front camera we can’t see it. so when you use the front camera the logo of Koenigsegg pop-up and the camera comes out as you can see in the images.
The third thing is its headlights, so what’s new in the headlights of Regera? Actually, headlights are also made up of carbon fiber and like a constellation, DRLs are provided in this car that looks really unique, dual LED projectors arranged in verticle order for a great appearance.
Besides this, if you look closely at the headlights you will find that a little fan is provided within the light to maintain the proper ventilation inside the headlights and not let vapors come inside.
The fourth thing is the front hood is not only to carry the little bags but is also designed to hold the roof of the car. yes, the roof can be removed manually and placed under the hood. other than this Power steering fluid and windscreen washer fluid bottle/container is also provided under the front hood as you can see in the images.
Side View Of Regera
The first thing you will notice when seeing the side of the car is you won’t find any door opening handle. so the question arises How do Koenigsegg regera doors open? so for this, a tiny silver button is provided on the door as you can see in the images you need to press this to open the door manually. Read More
And the company has also provided a dedicated button on the key fob of regera to open the door and I have explained some interesting things about this car below.
The second thing you will notice is the carbon fiber wheel that not just looks cool but is also light in weight and you also have the option to select an alloy wheel.
The third thing two Turbo-Intercoolers are provided on each side near the rear wheel to cool their air vents are provided and the lower portion of the sports car is called the side rocker panel. Besides this air curtain is provided on the front fender.
Moving on to ORVMs they not just look cool but also carry cameras and sensors. & camera can be seen under the ORVMs. these outer mirrors of regera are made up of carbon material and are adjustable and foldable electrically.
Rear View of Regera
Koenigsegg Regera may look like the other Koenigsegg Models but the rear portion of the car is entirely different & as well as functionality. I will disclose some hidden features that you might not know.Read More
The first unique thing about this car is the centre exhaust you see is not actual engine exhaust it is actually a path that lets the hot air come from the electric cooling system & when you look closely you will find there is a fan inside it.
The second thing is so you might be thinking Where is the Engine Exhaust of Koenigsegg Regera? So let me tell you the rear diffuser you see in the images two of them are exhaust in the shape of diffuser fins and the exhaust is made by Akrapovic.
The third one is the hidden charging port there is a dedicated button on the key fob with a charging wire image print on the button so as you press the button the rear license plate goes down and reveals the charging port.
And right above the charging port, there is a camera for reverse parking beside this lots of open areas are provided to let the hot engine air out.
the fourth thing is to access the rear-mounted engine you need to lift the rear bonnet & which also can be opened via a key. now here comes the question we are not able to see the fuel filling cap.
Where is thefuel filling cap in Koenigsegg Regera? so to get your regera top up first lift the rear bonnet/rear clamshell and on the right side behind the doors as shown in the images and on the left side you will find engine oil filling cap and automatic transmission fluid.
What is Autoskin feature in Koenigsegg Regera?
Autoskin is one the most technologically advanced and useful features designed by Koenigsegg Automotive AB and I will tell you everything about these features.
So let’s start, as you can see in the image of the Key fob of regera you will see seven buttons, and each button is printed with the images of the function it made for the like front hood opening button is printed with a like image & you can understand by look at the key.
Again the question arises How does autoskin work? so at the bottom of the key, you will see a button printed with a ghost image. so as you press the button it will open the doors, front, and rear hood automatically with the help of hydraulics struts.
Koenigsegg Regera Interior
One thing I have to say is Koenigsegg Regera Interiors looks and feels rich in terms of design and you can get the interior colours you want and have shown some interior color as I have shown.
In this article, I have shown the images of the Right-Hand Side and Left Hand Side of the Regera car. Read More
Monocoque Construction
Just like any other supercar regera also have center monocoque construction on which the front and rear aluminum subframe get attached to form a complete chassis. This center part of the car is completely made up of carbon fiber which means the car remains light in weight and provides good torsional rigidity around 65,000nm degree.
And Carbon fiber with aluminum honeycomb, with a centrally integrated fuel tank and battery storage.
Dashboard Design
Just Like other Koenigsegg cars the Regera also has a semicircular dashboard design that has very little storage for holding phones on the co-driver side and that mini phone holder slot has a wireless charging system.
Besides this, the entire dashboard comes wrapped with Alcantara leather or any other color leather you have so many choices and in this article, I have shown a blue Alcantara leather and black leather interior.
And air condition vents are also semi-circular shaped and air vents are made up of aluminum each air vents have a round metal knob to adjust the direction of air. and I am amazed at the level of attention to detail of this car even this tiny air vent knob has the Koenigsegg logo.
Coming to the center of the dashboard you will get a portrait touch screen infotainment that not only plays music but control the other features of the car like adjustment of seats, controlling ORVMs, controlling the Air conditioner, etc.’You will find very few buttons on the center console of the car.
Carbon Sport Bucket Seats With Memory Foam
Koenigsegg Regera is fitted with carbon fiber-made bucket seats with memory foam and the seat itself is almost 2 inches thick and is electrically adjustable seats.
These seats are comfortable and to adjust seats Koenigsegg has provided controls on the touch screen. you will see the seat icon on the touch screen. touch that icon to reveal the seat adjustment function and you will see arrows to adjust seats as shown in the images.
Power Steering & Active Rear Wheel Steering
Koenigsegg Regera comes with power steering or you can say electro-hydraulic assisted and to fill power steering fluid company has provided a steering fluid filling bottle in the front hood so as you open the hood you will see it on the right side.
Besides this, Koenigsegg has provided steering-mounted controls on the left side you will see some infotainment & phone call buttons & on the right side, you will get a cruise control, suspension height adjustment button, and an instrument cluster button.
Now the weird thing is you will not see any gearknob in the car as Koenigsegg Regera runs without a gearbox and a paddle shifter is provided behind the steering wheel to choose Reverse/Neutral & Driving. whereas parking mode can be selected on a wiper control stick via a button provided on it as you can see in the images.
Fully Digital Instrument Cluster/Speedometer
Speaking of the Koenigsegg Regera’s speedometer, the car company has provided a fully digital instrument cluster that looks cool and shows various information about the car.
On the centre of the instrument cluster speedometer and Tachometer are provided & along with it engine power and motor power meter it provided as you can see in the images.
Besides this, on both sides of the speedometer, two screens are provided on the right side screen you can see the Distance covered, Average speed, Mileage, and temperature of fluid & left side screen shows the infotainment system.
Below the speedometer there are some warnings are provided like Fuel level, Engine Temperature, battery level, etc.
How to open door regera door from inside the car?
As I said from outside you don’t find any door opening handle instead of a handle a tiny button is provided. but inside you do get an inside door handle, as well as two buttons and windows open/close buttons, which are provided on the centre console.
So when you are inside just pull the door handle once it will open half and again pull its door will open fully. Besides this, on the centre console, a Koenigsegg logo-shaped button cluster is provided and each button has a dedicated image of the function it is built for.
Although you can open the door and close the door via the touch screen in case the touch screen breaks you can use the buttons to open it.
What is the process for removing the roof of Koenigsegg Regera?
So here comes the last part of the interior of regera the removable roof or I say manually removable roof.
So why does thishigh-end car come with a removable roof function? so let me tell you this is actually done to keep the weight as minimal as possible because the automatic convertible mechanism adds excessive weight to the car.
And it will get very difficult to access the engine because the roof hides on the rear portion of the car. So that is why a manually removable system is convenient but it requires some physical effort.
Now again a question arises where to store this roof after removing it? So for this Koenigsegg has provided some space under the front hood. you can slide the roof carefully under the front hood when required but to do this read the instructions carefully.
Koenigsegg Regera Key
Well just like the regera truly amazing design its key design is also unique. The Regera key comes in the shape of the Koenigsegg logo and a total of seven buttons are provided on the key fob that controls the different functions of the car.
so you will find a door open/close button, a Door Lock button, a Charging port button, a front/rear hood button, and a ghost button. now I have explained the workings of the ghost button in the above paragraph.
Koenigsegg Regera Engine
See guys, I don’t have sufficient things to talk about the engine Why? The engine this car have is really a masterpiece and it’s enough to challenge the world’s fastest car the Bugatti Chiron/Bugatti Veyron.
Whereas Regera is using V8 with half the number of cylinders and produces 1100 horsepower but with additional three motors the combined power output becomes 1500 hp and Koenigsegg Regera is only using larger two variable geometry turbos.
Speaking about performance there is no lack of power you are going to feel this V8 engine is really exciting to drive and also light in weight as compared to the Bugatti Chiron.
This car uses Koenigsegg twin turbo aluminium 5,0L V8, 4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts, dry sump lubrication system.
This engine is coupled with an electric motor that is directly connected to the crankshaft and now the flywheel is attached to the engine because it doesnt have any traditional gearbox.
Other than this engine cooling radiator is mounted up front had two large turbo intercoolers is mounted on both sides behind the doors.
Koenigsegg Regera Transmission
As we have heard Regera doesn’t have any transmission so the question arises How can a car run without a gearbox?
So the answer is Koenigsegg has developed a Direct Drive System and a 1-speed fixed gear (2.73:1 ratio). and two more electric motors are attached to the rear wheels to power the car.
So let’s simplify and understand the technology behind this ultimate hypercar in a simple manner. when you start the car the electric motor that is attached to the engine works as a self-starting motor and helps the engine to keep turned on.
Then after starting the engine this motor also works to charge the battery means it also works as an alternator Besides this when you accelerate the car it also provides additional torque to the engine to rev higher.
So during initial speed or when you riding slowly if you are driving about 50 kmph engine does not engage but above 100 kmph engine gets automatically connects with the wheel via hydra coupling and delivers power to the wheels directly.
So you will not see any belts on the engine that are usually found to drive the alternator & water pump etc.
And unique thing is the reverse gear of Regera is fully electric because at the end we don’t have any gearbox.
koenigsegg regera horsepower
This car uses a v8 petrol engine and three electric motors so the total horsepower produced by the engine is 1500 horsepower. whereas the engine alone delivers 1100 horsepower. and the combined power output of three electric motors is 700 hp.
Koenigsegg Regera Top Speed
The company said that Regera is designed for touring and more likely to drive on our city roads but you can drive it on the track as well Koenigsegg didn’t develop the regera for top speed run but still, Koenigsegg said regera can hit 400kmphtop speed.
And Koenigsegg Regera can hit 0-60mph in just 2.8 sec similar to Bugatti Chiron.

Koenigsegg Regera Exhaust
Speaking about the exhaust of regera so let me tell you the exhaust system is fully developed by the Akrapovic company. Read More
Besides this, the Koenigsegg Gemera exhaust was also designed and developed by Akrapovic. and refers exhaust design similar to the rear diffuser design as you can see in the images.
When I saw this car for the first time I was unable to identify but if you look at the rear portion closely you will find that it is exactly the same as the rear diffuse fins.
And catalytic converter is added to the exhaust to meet the emission norms.

Koenigsegg Regera Crash test
To show the world how much Koenigsegg cars are safer and more solid. the company have done lots of crash tests and Regera has passed all the tests.Read More
The unique thing is Koenigsegg have used only one car for different crash tests only by changing its one or two body panels.
Like centre monocoque construction didn’t damage during the crash test not even a single time and Koenigsegg drove the car over broken rodes, performed side crashes, and head-on collisions, and hit several times the car with a hammer.
I mean they have abused the car in each and every manner so this shows how solid and well built this car is. and the rest of the things you can see in the videos.
