He was riding alone. and ARAI claimed that this bike could give up to 32.0 kmpl mileage but this mileage is usually done under good riding conditions like slow and steady speed, no pillion and on open highways.
But I believe that it can easily return more than 30 km/l when you ride it under 70 km/h with the light throttle.
Combined Mileage

ARAI Claimed

RE Himalayan 450: Complete Price, Mileage & Review 2024
How Himalayan 450 is different from Himalayan 411?
Previous Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 was also launched with the E20 OBD-2 system in 2023 but it is now replaced by the all-new RE Himalayan 450 which not only looks upmarket but also performs Read More
Like that and it’s very much more capable than the previous Himalayan 411. but if you are one of those who still loves the older model then you can get them because in our opinion company may have left some in stock.
FRONT VIEW
So let’s start comparing both the bikes from the front as you can see in the images the previous Himalayan 411 used to come with Halogen headlights and Halogen turn indicators beside this a front windscreen used to come with it.
But in 2024 RE Himalayan 450 gets a new front portion like you have modern LED headlights with two chambers for lower and higher beams and turn indicators are also changed this time you will get all new LED turn indicators and each tune indicator gets 3 no of LED.
These LED headlights are similar to the Royal Enfield Meteor on the other hand front windscreen design also has changed it now a bit wider and mounted on a four-point metal bracket you can see clearly through the windscreen and it is securely tightened via 4-screws.
Another change you will notice over the mudguards the previous Himalayan 411 had a high-mounted mudguard and a wheel-mounted mudguard. this Himalayan 450 also has a high-mounted mudguard with a more sporty design which looks better than the previous one.
On the other hand, there is a wheel-mounted mudguard which is made up of fibreglass. on the other hand, you will get 43 mm upside-down forks which was missing from the previous Himalayan. these forks now come with a protector.
These protectors help to save your suspension from getting dirty hence the life of your suspension will increase and on both the Himalayan is printed and an orange reflector is also provided on it. due to this, the bike looks more sporty and by having a reflector safety is also increased.
SIDE VIEW
Let’s move on to the side of the Himalayan 450 ns and see what’s new we have got in it? so there is a huge difference in the side profile of the 450 and it looks more muscular than before for example the fuel tank now comes with a 17-litre petrol holding capacity and it’s 3 kg lighter than the previous Himalayan 411.
On the other hand, Royal Enfield has developed a new steel twin-spar frame which is narrower, lighter and stronger than before it uses the engine as a stress member and gives the rider better ergonomics and gives freedom to the rider to ride it in a standing position comfortably.
Personally, in terms of design, I really like the bike more than the previous one especially the design of the fuel tank. you know we always liked the Himalayan 411 but it had a slim fuel tank, and slim wheels made me wonder why Royal Enfield is not changing its design but now we have a new design 450.
Body panels are minimal in this bike like side panels and rear mudguard. Besides this, the company has also changed the exhaust on the previous bike it was a long upswept exhaust this time you have a short thin rectangular shape exhaust which not only looks sporty but is also light in weight I think the company has done this to save weight.
REAR VIEW
Moving on to the rear there are a couple of design elements in the Royal Enfield Himalayan450 which is different from the previous one. For example, you have taillight and indicators are combined into one yes as you can see in the images.
Rear indicators are a bit different as compared to the front indicators. the outer portion of the indicators has a Taillight and the centre has an indicator light. again it’s done to save weight and there is no center-mounted taillight here.
This thing we have already seen in BMW bikes like the BMW S1000RR and BMW 1250 GS-A. beside the rear fender extruding backward and this time company has used a fat tyre. that’s all about the design of the bike and the rest you can see in the images. [/rear]
RE Himalayan 450 Handlebar And Switch Gears
Now Moving on to the handlebar with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 you will get a raised tube-type handlebar which gives you an upright riding position and supports you to keep your back straight this handlebar is nice and wide so manoeuvring this bike gets quite easy. Read More
on the other hand, due to the raised handlebar, you can do saddling easily with this bike. on the other hand, switchgear cluster you will get the same as we have in Meteor 350. On the left side switch gear cluster has a headlight control rotary switch, horn, turn indicator switch, and a tiny joystick to control the function of the speedometer.
On the other hand, you will get an engine kill switch, mode button and hazard light button. here we have shown detailed images of the handlebar and video so that you can understand it better.
RE Himalayan 450 Speedometer & Its Features
Talking about the speedometer the previous Himalayan had a large dashboard that used to contain an analogue speedo and tachometer, fuel gauge and tripper navigation and I like that design but this time Read More
You will get a 4-inch round HD digital display that shows pretty much everything like an analogue tachometer, fuel gauge, gear position indicator, kilometres, ODO meter and some sensor indications. Besides this you can switch it to digital format to change you need to press the mode button on the right side switch gear and it will change to digital and vice versa.
Besides this, you can access more bike features with this speedometer. and we have shown the video that can teach you how to use the speedometer of RE Himalayan 450?
RE Himalayan 450 Suspension, wheels & Brakes
Let’s talk about the suspension and wheels of the new Himalayan 450 this time company has armed this bike with all-new suspension and wheels to make it more capable like Read More
The previous bike had regular suspension this time company added upside-down 43 mm showa forks we know that showa is famous for their suspension and by getting these suspensions ride becomes more stable at high speed and absorbs bumps decently.
On the other hand rear monoshocker is also from the House of showa which is mounted horizontally and adjustable which means you and soften and harden your suspension according to your preference.
On the other hand, the top model of Himalayan 450 has got golden colour spoke wheels from () and these are spoke wheels because spoke wheels are known for their shock absorbing abilities and therefore they perform better and in my opinion, you dont get any alloy wheel options.
On the rear you will get a 140/80 R17″ wheel which is wider than the previous one and up front it has a 90/90 R21″ wheel. on the top model, you will get the golden colour wheel. and on all four models bikes are fitted with block pattern tubeless tyres for better off-road performance.
Now let’s talk about the brakes company has armed this bike with Brembo brakes. it has a larger 320 mm ventilated disc up front with a floating dual piston calliper up front and a 270 mm ventilated disc at the rear with a single piston floating calliper.
Besides this, you will get dual channel ABS with the RE Himalayan 450 and rear ABS can be switched off to give you more engaging rides. the thing I like about this bike is brakes perform really well considering the size of the bike and give confidence to the rider during high speeds.Read More
Tyre F/R
90/90 R21″ with tubless tyres. 140/80 R17″” with tubless tyres
Bakes F/R

What is the seat height of Himalayan 450?
Can a 5.5 feet ride Himalayan?
See the Himalayan 450 is indeed a large bike and it is heavy too. As you asked can a 5’5″ guy can ride this bike let me tell youRead More
Himalayan 450 has an 825mm seat height and can be raised up to 845mm and it can be lowered up to 805mm so if you are an experienced rider then you can adjust its seat up to 805mm and your toe will touch the ground and you can ride it easily.
On the other hand, if you are an inexperienced rider then it will be really difficult for you to ride this bike and due to its large size it will be difficult for you to manoeuvre this bike in congested places.
and the company has made this bike in a way that all average-height guys can ride this bike and the taller guys can adjust it according to him. I hope you have got the answer.
so here comes our favourite part the engine and the new Himalayan 450 gets a newly developed 450 cc engine. It is called Sherpa. it’s a Read More
Single cylinder 4-stroke water-cooled Double Over Cams and it’s a fuel injection engine that can run on E20 fuel. this is an all-new engine that is not only powerful but also light in weight as compared to the old Himalayan 411.
This newly developed water-cooled engine is 10 kg lighter than the previous air-cooled engine. this engine features a ride-by-wire technology which means its throttle grip is not connected to the engine throttle body via a metal wire.
Instead of this, it has a sensor connected to the throttle and a motor on the throttle body which is connected to the ECM so as you twist the throttle it operates the throttle plates with the help of the ECM and motor. I made the throttle input more precise.
Now this engine is a 452 cc engine that generates 40.2 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque and it sends all the power to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with the help of chain and sprocket arrangement.
This engine requires 10W-40 synthetic oil and it has a semi-dry-sump lubrication system This means oil remains collected in the oil sump on the lower part of the engine and oil is sent to the various parts of the engine via a pump. this system keeps the engine lubricated during challenging riding conditions and keeps the engine smooth.
On the other hand, it has an electric starting system which means you dont get any kick start with it. It’s a really powerful engine and it feels smooth and it has enough power to cruise on the highway without breaking a sweat.
You will not feel under power during the ride. yes, when you accelerate it up to 5000 RPM you will feel some vibrations on the handlebar but it will vanish as you accelerate it more than 5000 RPM. I must say it’s much better than the previous engine.
gearshifts are smooth and you will get a slip-and-assist clutch that makes the clutch lever feel light and the gearshift becomes smooth even when you are riding fast.
