Bajaj Pulsar P150 : The Best Budget Focus Bike

HEADLIGHTS

First the headlights, Bajaj has added a new design of projector LED headlights with different designs of LED DRLs. whereas N160 gets eye-shaped DRLs. as you can see in the images. another thing is the visor you will get a short visor that helps to deflect air during the ride. whereas N160 doesnt get a visor.

Personally speaking, headlights look sporty. Besides this Halogen, turn indicators are added into this bike that is placed above the headlight. and the advantage of having upper-mounted turn indicators is that in case you encounter a fall or side collision they remain safe most of the time.

On the other hand, a number plate holder is provided above the headlights that do not look good. and after getting the number plate fixed on the front fairing it might be difficult to clean the front fairing.

WHEELS & FENDERS

The second change I noticed on the wheels, the alloy wheels you get in the Bajaj Pulsar P150 are different from what we get in the Pulsar N160. and these alloy wheels have 6 spokes and look unique I mean I haven’t seen that kind of alloy design before.

These alloy wheels come in a grey colour with graphics on the side walls of the rims. and you can see that in the images we have shown.

Talking about the fenders the design is again the same as the N160. these are two-piece type fenders that look like one piece is added over another. and this kind of design we can only see on superbikes and I am happy that we got this on a commuter segment bike.

HANDLEBAR & SWITCHGEAR

The third change is in the handlebar, I saw that with the single-disc model, Pulsar P150 gets a tube-type handlebar whereas, with the double-disc variant, you will get a clip-on handlebar. The tube-type handlebar is more upright whereas the clip-on handlebar gives you a sporty riding position.

On the other hand, the switchgear is the same as we got with the elder Pulsar N160. and you can see them in the images.

INFINITY DISPLAY

The instrument cluster design and function are the same no change here. but due to the front visor, the infinity effect is not there. on the centre you will get an analogue tachometer, on the right side you will get a digital screen with a yellow light.

And on the left side, you will get a side stand, battery voltage, engine malfunctioning indicator etc. digital speedo shows 2-trip meters, Instantaneous fuel consumption, Distance to empty and gear position indicators.

SEAT HEIGHT AND TYPES

Bajaj is offering two seat types with the Pulsar P150 which is a single-piece and split type. both seats offer good comfort during the ride. and seats are well countered which gives you good ergonomics. let me tell you which seat is better for you?

If ride often with the kids and ladies then the single piece is better for you and if you ride alone or with a male pillion rider then a split-type seat is best for you.

One more thing with the single seat you will have a single-piece grab rail and with the split-seat model you will get a split-type grab rail.

Seats, on the other hand, are comfortable but if you are riding this Bajaj Pulsar P150 for continuously two hours then your butt may feel sore.

This is a proper city bike and it’s easy to handle. on the other hand, it has a couple of safety systems like single channel ABS, Cut-off side stand, Leg guard and saree guard. in this model, you don’t get any rear tyre hugger and no chain sprocket cover.

Talking about suspension, they offer good bump capability. and keeps you in comfort on broken roads. on the other hand brakes, the initial bite is not great but offers a good amount of stopping power.

This engine produced 14.5 ps of power and 13.5 nm of torque. and power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain sprocket through a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

Believe me, this 150cc engine offers a good amount of power and torque that makes you feel that you are not riding a smaller-capacity bike. and as you twist the throttle power delivery is linear and smooth which is better than the earlier pulsar 150.

On the other hand, gear shifting is smooth and the clutch feels light and you can use one finger to pull the clutch lever. And the nice thing about this engine is that you can ride the bike at 25-29 kmph in 5th gear. in the city and accelerate it from low speed to high speed without any shuddering.

that makes this easy to ride a city bike. Besides this just like its elder sibling Pulsar N160, it has under-belly exhaust that produces sporty exhaust nodes and when you take this bike from water logging bike doesnt stall at all.

Besides this, this bike is sported on a tabular chassis, gear shifter, brake lever and foot pages are of good quality. and it also has a main parking stand. so that is all about the engine and the rest of the things you can see in the images.

And Pulsar P150 delivered 25 kmpl in half litre petrol so the city mileage was 50 kmpl in the city. and the other hand we again took the bike on the highway with half litre fuel and rode the motorcycle above 70 kmph and the bike delivered 20.1 kmpl so the highway mileage will be the 40.2 kmpl before first service.

On the other hand in mixed riding conditions like you are riding in the city at slow speed and on the highway, at high speed, this bike delivered 45.5 kmpl before 1st service. so I am impressed with the mileage of the new Bajaj Pulsar P150.

so let me share a rider’s experience he was riding the bike on the highway and the Pulsar P150 achieved 127 kmph top speed. but let me tell you hitting 120 kmph is easy on this bike but after 125 kmph bike struggles a lot.

so this bike is happy to cruise up to 80 kmph smoothly on the highway and I think it’s great even if you are riding this bike on long routes.
