Kawasaki Ninja 650
2017 Ninja 650 Right Side View.
  • Now Ninja 650 is another most popular bike of Kawasaki and affordable as well.
  • Kawasaki is also continuously improving its Ninja 650 for the past several years.
  • And if we look at the 2017 Ninja 650 bike model it looks dated as compared to the 2022 model.
  • Yes, I have seen the 2017 Ninja 650 that used to come with ordinary reflector-type headlights.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
2017 Ninja 650 Left Side View.
  • And a part digital and part analog speedometer as we have seen on Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
  • Now, this 2022 model looks much better than the old one in terms of design and performance.
  • Now when you look at this bike from the front you will see some Ninja H2 styling here.
  • Like below the LED headlights, you will see winglets like the design to generate downforce.
  • And the most welcome change is its LED Headlight looks sharper and offers good visibility at night.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
2017 Ninja 650 Speedometer & Handlebar.
  • Besides this, both the lights have separate high and low beam functions.
  • And the company has added a taller windscreen to save riders from windblast.
  • The nice thing about this bike is it looks bigger just like a 1000 cc superbike.
  • Thanks to its side fairing that looks larger and has a large opening to let hot air out.
  • And if you see closely on the side fairing near headlights you will see an air vent.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
Front View 2022 Ninja 650.
  • That helps maximize its aerodynamic efficiency and it should be because these are high-speed bikes.
  • And the reason for getting popularity of this bike is its everyday usability.

  • Because Ninja 650 is offering an upright riding position and good engine performance.
  • As I said Ninja 650 is comfortable to ride due to its raised clip-on handlebars and 790 mm seat height.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
New 2022 Model Ninja 650
  • The rider’s Seat is comfortable and the pillion also remains comfortable during the ride.
  • Further adding comfort is its foot pegs because they are not rear set.
  • One thing I didn’t like about Kawasaki Ninja 650 is its tube-type grab rail.
  • Grab rails looks ugly as well as when you sit on a pillion seat your touch them.
  • Moving on to other features that make this bike look and feel modern is the addition of a TFT color instrument.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
Left Side View.
  • This TFT instrument unit is the same as we get into the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
  • It shows a digital speedometer, digital bar-style tachometer, and gear position indicator.
  • Shift lamp, fuel gauge, odometer, dual trip meters, current and average fuel consumption, average speed & more.
  • Now only one thing is left is its tail portion so at the rear you will get LED taillights and halogen indicators.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
Rear left Quarter View.
  • The company has put lots of effort into making Kawasaki Ninja more affordable.
  • At last, I want to say that Ninja 650 looks cool, and overall it and the finish are really good.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Color options

Kawasaki Ninja 650
International Spec Colors.
  • In 2023 Kawasaki introduced a new color that looks nice and it’s getting popular among many riders.
  • Its Pearl Robotic White color with some black and green combination.
  • In India, customers can choose between two colors Lime Green and pearl Robotic white
  • And for international markets like USA Kawasaki is offering the same color as shown in this image.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
# Metallic Spark Black/Pearl Nightshade Teal Color.
  • But I am not sure whether these colors are available or not so I am leaving their website link here.
  • So that you can get the Ninja 650 brochure to get detailed information about the bike.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Engine Performance

Kawasaki Ninja 650
Chassis and Engine.
  • Ninja 650 BS6 is blessed with a sporty 649 cc parallel-twin engine that delivers smooth & responsive performance.
  • Kawasaki’s all ninja series bikes are equipped with parallel twin engines.
  • First, let’s talk about chassis because a strong base structure supports all parts of the bike.
  • Ninja 650 has a light and slim chassis that features a trellis frame and horizontal back-link rear suspension.
  • With nimble handling and excellent traction response as a result more direct connection to the road.
Kawasaki Ninja 650
Blue Color Ninja 650.
  • And this Kawasaki Ninja 650 has a 649 cc Parallel-twin engine 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine.
  • That delivers 67.3 Brake Horsepower or (68PS) and 64 Nm of torque.
  • Delivering this all power efficiently to the rear wheel is a 6-speed gearbox.
  • Kawasaki Ninja 650 offeres good Low and mid-range
  • That means it’s easy to ride in the city and on the highway.
  • Because high horsepower bikes do not offer useable performance at low speed.
  • But if you love to ride fast on the highway Ninja 650 will give a solid performance.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Suspension

Kawasaki Ninja 650
Front and Rear Wheel.
  • To keep the low-cost Kawasaki still does not offer USD (upside down) forks.
  • The company is offering Ø 41 mm telescopic forks with 125 mm wheel travel at the front.
  • And at the rear, we have Horizontal Back-Link with adjustable preload suspension with 130 mm wheel travel.
  • Ninja 650 is comfortable to ride even on bumpy roads.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Brakes

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Review, Mileage, Specs, Price
Metallic Imperial Red Color.
  • When it comes to brake for the superbike us one name automatically comes to mind.
  • Yes, it’s Brembo but keep cost low Kawasaki is offering Nissin brakes.
  • But these brakes deliver good feedback to the rider with enough braking power to stop the bike.
  • So upfront we Ninja 650 gets a dual petal disc of Ø300 mm with semi-floating dual-piston calipers.
  • And at the rear single petal disc of Ø 220 mm is provided with a single-piston caliper.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Seat Height

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Review, Mileage, Specs, Price
Rider and Pillion Seat.
  • As I said Ninja 650 is comfortable to ride and easy to handle.
  • Even a short rider can ride this bike due to its ergonomically riding position.
  • The handlebar is positioned high, foot pegs are not rear set and seat height is 790 mm.
  • All these things make this bike able to ride comfortably on the highway & in the city.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 top Speed

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Review, Mileage, Specs, Price
212 kmph Top Speed.
  • As this bike is not designed to hit top speed it’s designed for a comfortable ride.
  • And sharing your and the user’s opinion about the top speed he was riding on the highway with less traffic.
  • At that time Kawasaki Ninja 650 achieved 212 kmph top speed as you can see in the image.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Mileage

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Review, Mileage, Specs, Price
Handlebar & Switch Gear.
  • I think asking about the mileage of a superbike is irrelevant because they are not designed for that.
  • But I have real figures about Ninja 650 mileage according to a 650 user rider.
  • He emptied its tank completely by riding it and then they poured an exact 1liter of petrol.
  • And they rode the bike it bike do not stop and they found that.
  • Kawasaki Ninja 650 is delivering 22 kmpl of mileage in mixed riding conditions.
  • But if you are riding on the highway like 60-70 kmph Ninja 650 can deliver near 30 kmpl mileage.
  • And fuel tank capacity of ninja 650 is 15 Liters.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Ground Clearance

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Review, Mileage, Specs, Price
TFT Display.
  • Riding a fully faired superbike is always a problem in India.
  • This problem is related to ground clearance and having low ground clearance means riding carefully.
  • Kawasaki Ninja 650 has a 130 mm Ground Clearance & if you are riding with a pillion be careful.

Expert Opinion

  • I have covered all the important points related to Kawasaki Ninja 650.
  • And in my opinion Ninja, 650 is a great bike in terms of usability and it can be your daily commuting bike.
  • Besides this, this bike can perform on the track as well so it’s a great bike.
  • Although there are a couple of bikes in the market that compete with the ninja 650.
  • These bikes are Aprilia RS 660, Honda CBR650R, and Ducati Panigale v2.
  • All these bikes are offering more performance and features than the ninja 650.
  • But Aprilia 660 and Honda CBR650R & Ducati Panigale is expensive than Ninja 650.

I Like

  • Aerodynamic Design.
  • Engine Performance.
  • Comfortable

I Don’t Like

  • No Led Indicators.
  • No USD Forks.
  • Grab Rail Design.
