EXTERIOR DESIGN

So as this is the base model Crysta G it looks quite simple from the outside like you dont get any chrome treatment, LED lights etc. and its exterior design is the same as the top model ZX. From the front when I saw that car I noticed that even in the base model of crysta.

The company has offered body-coloured front and rear bumpers because normally we get black colour bumper that shows that it’s a base model of the car. In 2023 the company changed the design of the front bumper and front grill to give it a fresh look.

Now front bumper looks more muscular than before, so in the Base model G, you will get a black radiator grill with no chrome highlights. And headlights of this base model are reflective halogen type and each headlight has high beam, low beam and pilot lights.

The design of the headlights is the same as the top model. On the other hand, you will not get any Day Time Running lights with this model. moving on the lower part of the bumper it has turn indicator lights with a halogen bulb.

And company has also provided a place for the fog lights you can get them installed as an accessory. Now let’s move on to the side of the car and see the changes that the company has made to it.

So we have not seen any change in the design it’s pretty much the same as before. As this is the base model you will not get any chrome treatment around windows besides this the thing that makes you feel that you are buying a base model Innova Crysta G is you will get R16 regular wheels (Non-Alloy) here of the same size as the alloy wheel.

But you will get wheel covers that make your car feel upmarket and protect them from damage. personally, I prefer those wheels because they are easy to repair and you can use them for a longer duration and they are not expensive as well.

On the other hand, the Outer Rear View mirrors of the car come with body colours, they are integrated with LED turn indicators and I am happy even in this base model you can adjust them electrically but you need to fold and unfold them manually.

Now let’s move on to the rear the design is pretty much the same as before and one thing I really appreciate is that even in this base model Toyota has provided rear wash and wipers. which is normally you dont ins on the other car brands base model.

Besides this the rear bumper comes in body colour with two reflectors at the bottom of the bumper and the taillight is also equipped with a halogen bulb. One thing Toyota can do as Innova is a Luxury vehicle they should add LED lights here.

Toyota Innova Crysta G “Base-Model” Interiors

Now it’s time to see the interior of the base model Innova crysta. so let’s get inside the car first you need to unlock the car of course company has provided a key fob to unlock the car. and on the outside door handle of the driver’s side has a key slot to manually unlock the car.

Ones you open the door an all-black interior will welcome you and if you have seen the top model crysta before then you are not going to like it definitely. its interior is simple. just live it now after opening the driver’s door you will find ORVM and Power Windows switches here.

And I really like that even in the base model of Innova we have all four powered windows. Besides this dashboard has all back colours in some areas you will see a silver finish but it feels boring when you look at the dashboard.

One thing I like about the dashboard is its design is a bit different from the other cars it has a curvy design which makes it look attractive. so as this is a base model on the centre of the dash you dont get any touchscreen infotainment but there is space left by the Toyota to install an after-market music system.

Below it, there are some controls for the manual AC. In the base model, you will get a manual A/C and heater. and just below AC controls company has provided Traction Control/Power/ECO model buttons and for another purpose a 12V power socket is also there to power your electric devices.

Now on the center console, you have a gearknob, parking brake lever and a bottle holder. you can place only one water bottle here. On the other hand between both the front seats you have an armrest that has storage to keep your mobile and wallets.

Now let’s talk about seats in this base model Toyota is offering fabric seats. and you will not get power seats. front seats can be slid and inclined manually. and the rest can be adjusted manually. you will get a decent amount of comfort here.

Moving on to the second row you will get nice spacious seats that can be folded in a 60:40 ratio. you can spread your legs easily while sitting and you also have a good amount of headroom. besides this, the company has provided air conditioning for third-row passengers in this base model.

Let’s move on to the third row. so in the third row, you will not get a decent amount of leg room you have very little space here and it is only good for kids on the other hand company has provided air conditioning for the third row as well.

And on the lower half of the grill has crysta badging. whereas in the base model, you will get a simple black colour front grill. On the other hand, this second base model also gets a front body colour bumper.

Talking about lights in this model also you will get the same halogen bulb-equipped headlights and indicators. in this model fog lights are not provided so you need to get them installed.

Now let’s move to the side of the car you will find the design is the same as the base model like body-colour door handles, and the outer rear view mirror is also body colour. in this model rear view mirrors are equipped with LED turn indicators.’

The thing that is different in these Innova Crysta GX is you can fold and unfold the side mirror electronically via a button and can also adjust it.

One thing I like about the GX model is the Alloy wheels. in this model, you will get the alloy wheel whereas base model G gets regular wheels. the rest of the things here are the same as the base model.

Now let’s move on to the rear of the car there is no change in the design of the car and its features same as the base model G. You have wipers, high mount stop lamp halogen bulb equipped taillights and a black piano-finished element connecting both the taillights.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Now let’s talk about the interiors of the Innova Crysta GX model. Just like the base model it also has black interiors but the change here is to make the interior more appealing company has added a silver finish on various parts like on the steering and on the dashboard.

And you will be happy to see just like the top model you will get an 8 INCH DISPLAY AUDIO, CAPACITIVE TOUCH SCREEN, FLICK and drag FUNCTION, and BLUETOOTH functions. whereas the G model doesn’t have this thing.

Moving down to the dashboard, you will see a manual A/C control knob and buttons. in this model also company is also providing a manual air conditioning system.

Talking about the steering you will get a tilt and telescopic steering adjustment and its steering also comes with the audio, and volume control buttons on the steering wheel. whereas the base model g doesnt get this.

Moving on to doors, on the driver-side door of the Innova Crysta GX you will get all four power window switches and additionally, you will get a side view mirror folding and unfolding switch.

Talking about the seats here Toyota is offering fabric seats and the front seats don’t get an electronic adjusting seat function. instead of this, you will get manual seat adjustment along with height adjustment.

whereas the rear seats are also the same if you are buying a 7-seater Innova then you will get second-row captain seats. if you are getting 8 seaters then you will get bench-type seats along with the cup holders and center armrest.

The third is the same as the base model but you can recline and fold the according to your comfort. for the rear passengers company has provided AC vents and cup holders to make their journey comfortable.

EXTERIOR DESIGN

well, I saw this VX model I was quite impressed after seeing all these features in fact it has almost all the features that you will get in the top model Crysta. and it looks interesting from the outside and inside.

The front radiator grill is highlighted with chrome strips and this chrome stripe enhances the overall appearance of the car from the front below the radiator grill has a crysta badging on it which is also treated with chrome.

On the other hand headlights of this VX model are slightly advanced and it has a combination of LED and halogen reflector lights. when you look closer at the headlight you will find that each headlight gets an LED projector, Halogen reflector and LED DRLs.

and I have seen many times on the road during night drive that these headlights make you able to see the road clearly due to better light throw and due to this you enjoy the night drive. besides this over the bumper company has provided fog lights.

These fog lights are not LED instead this company has provided halogen bulbs because during foggy days yellow lights are more visible as compared to LED lights. and turn indicators are also provided to make the car look more attractive.

So let’s move on to the side we have some chrome treatment like has window outline which is decorated with chrome and the door handles also has a chrome finish whereas in the base model, you will get these things in body colour.

Although the side design of this second top model is the same as the base model to make it look more premium, the company has added some chrome nothing more than that. another change here is in this variant you will get machine-finished alloy wheels.

These alloy wheels are changing the overall appearance of the car and I personally like the design of these wheels. talking about other features of the car like it comes with electrically adjustable and foldable outside mirrors along with the turn indicators and reset of the design is the same as the other variants.

Now let’s move on to the rear of the car which is again the same as the base model you will get rear wipers and halogen-equipped split taillights and the design element which is attached to the rear tailgate between the lights comes in the body color.

INTERIOR DESIGN

So let’s come inside the second top model of Crysta VX. One thing I want to say is that you will be happy to see the interior of this model i am saying this because it comes decorated with a wooden finish and silver finish.

Besides this, there are some in the car where you will get leather treatment. so just like before let’s start this review by opening the door. so to unlock the car company provided a smart key. it means you dont need to think too much just press the unlock button to one the door.

and keep this smart key in your pocket. As you open the door you will see some fabric treatment over the door which gives a luxury vehicle feel to you and here in this model, you will get one touch on all four power windows up/down buttons. these buttons are placed on silver colour finish panels.

on the lower part of the door, there is a light that automatically glows up when you open the door. another thing you will see inside the car is a dashboard which looks impressive company has added a wooden finish on various parts of the dashboard.

So the basic dashboard layout is the same i will only mention the features you will get with the Toyota Innova Crysta VX. In this model first new thing you will find is the Push start/stop button which can be seen on the right side of the steering wheel.

On the other hand, the second new thing you will see is the dual-zone automatic air conditioning system from the front and for the rear passengers. Besides this a 12v power socket, power and eco modes buttons.

The next thing you will notice is that the steering wheel is now covered with leather and the top portion of the steering has a wooden finish after adding these two things the steering feels better when you place your hands over it.

On the other hand steering wheel now has MID control over it on the right side and on the left side, it has volume and and phone control. and from this model, you also get a cruise control which can be controlled via a stick which can be seen behind the lower side of the steering wheel.

Now let’s talk about the roof because the roof provides ambient lights just to make you feel that you are sitting in a luxury MPV on the other hand separate reading light is provided over each seat which is useful if you are reading a book or doing something during the ride.

And air conditioning vents are provided for the second row and third row. now let’s talk about seats in the Crysta VX model you will get premium fabric seats with Crysta badging on each seat. so for the front passengers, you will get manually adjustable seats that can be inclined/declined and can be adjusted according to your height.

on the other hand second-row seats you can get a bench type or captain seat. if you are getting 7 seater model then only you will get captain seats. There is lots of space here in the second row but I feel that tight support could be better.

On the other hand, the third row again has less space but you can fold them and use it as a storage space. So that’s all about the interior of the Crysta VX rest of the things you can see in the images.

So let’s talk about the design first when you look at both of the MPVs you will find the Innova Hycross look bigger than our Innova Crysta in terms of size. and here we are comparing the top models of both Crysta and Hycross.

First, let’s talk about the Crysat ZX it’s the top model it comes after VX. and it has LED projector headlights and on the lower part of the bumper, you will get halogen fog lights. and the company has used lots of chrome to make it look premium.

whereas when you look at the Hycross it doesnt look like an MPV it looks like a large SUV from the front and it has a large bonnet that makes it look heavy and muscular and it definitely looks more attractive than the crysta.

On the other hand, Toyota has added fully LED headlights to it that gives good visibility during night drive. and it also has LED DRLS on the lower part of the bumper these lights remain on during the drive and also acts as a turn signal. this MPV also has LED fog lights.

One thing I like about Innova Hycross is its lower bumper has a Toyota fortuner design which gives it an SUV-like stance from the front. now. moving on to the side of the car again Innova Hycross looks bigger than the crysta.

Besides this, Hycross gets R18-inch wheels whereas Crysta gets only R16-inch wheels. Crysta does look premium by the cross looks more muscular due to the larger round-shaped rear quarter panels.

Both the MPV Crysta and the Hycross get power folding and an adjustable outer rear view mirror integrated with turn indicators and both the MPVs have chrome-treated door handles with request sensors. Besides this Hycross has a power tailgate just press the button provided on the tailgate and it will be raised on its own.

Now let’s move on to the rear Toyota Innova Hycross which has a new design it has a wide tailgate, roof spoiler, wipers and LED taillights. when I first saw this Hycross from the rear it looked like the SUV to me I say it is far better than the Innova Crysta.

On the other hand, Crysta’s body is sported by a strong ladder frame but Hycross has a unibody design due to this it is light in weight. but crysta feels solid due to its ladder body construction

INTERIOR COMPARISON

Now let’s get inside the car and see which MPV is better? we have seen both cars from the inside and found that the Hycross interiors are completely different from the Crysta. both the MPVs come with the seven and eight-seater configurations.

So let’s start by unlocking the car both the Crysta and Hycross come with the smart key so you dont need to put the key into the key slot just keep it in your pocket and go. Both MPVs have lock and unlock buttons but only Innova Hycross has a power tailgate opening button on its smart key.

Now as I opened the door of Crysta ZX I found a high-quality interior Toyota has used a wooden and silver finish on the dashboard and on all four doors. Besides this inside door handles are decorated with chrome and I really like it.

On the other hand, Crysta ZX comes with camel tan colour and all-black colour seats which feel more premium than the other crysta model. now let’s compare it with the Innova Hycross when I saw the interior of the Hycross.

I found it was totally different from the Crysta in terms of design. I saw Hycross’s interior is not just premium but also has more space than the crysta. like dashboard it has 25.65 cm Connected Touchscreen Audio in the center which is larger than the Crysta ZX.

You will get multi-zone automatic climate control in both the cars Hycross and crysta. in the hycross, you will get electric power steering whereas in the crysta you will get hydraulic power steering. both the MPVs have steering-mounted controls, pushbutton start etc.

Now the biggest change here is Innova Hycross offers a large panoramic sunroof whereas Innova Crysta does not. here due to the sunroof, the Hycross feels more roomier and premium than the Innova Crysta.

The second change I noticed was in the seats. our Crysta ZX comes with front-powered driver seats which have a parcel tray at the back side of the driver and co-driver seats and there is a hook is also provided to hang your luggage up to 4kg.

On the second row Crysta ZX comes with only 7 seating arrangements which means it has captain seats with two cupholders and an armrest and the third row is not so spacious.

Whereas the seats of Innova Hycross are not only more spacious than the crysta but more comfortable and premium than the Innova. Why I am saying this? because Hycross has front 8-way power adjustable seats along with it it has a seat ventilation system which means during summer days it helps you to stay fresh.

Besides this, you will get driver memory seat functions which means you will get your comfortable driving position by pressing a button. on the other hand, second-row seats are captain seats that can be slid backwards easily to get more leg space and they also have leg sport which supports your let and gives you incredible comfort.

Now the third row we see that the Innova Crysta ZX doesnt has much space for the passengers but this story is different in the hycross in the hycross you have enough space for three adults it means is a proper seven-seater MPV.

So here Innova hycross is clearly the winner in terms of space and luxury features and really like it.

That develops 187.7 horsepower and 188 nm of torque and the motor produces 206 nm of torque. so as it’s a petrol engine and you are currently driving a Crysta diesel you will miss the power punch in the petrol across.

we are not saying this hycross doesn’t perform well because the petrol engine along with the motor gives you 16 km/l in the city drive and gives you decent power to drive the car on the highway. this engine is designed to give you good fuel economy along with decent performance.

And as we know people are now thinking about getting an electric vehicle but we doesnt have enough charging stations so getting a petrol engine with a hybrid system is the right choice. and Toyota claims that you can get up to 21 km/l mileage with this MPV.

Is Toyota Hycross 4-wheel drive?

No, Toyota hycross is a front-wheel drive car. and Crysta is a rear-wheel drive car.

The engine is mounted longitudinally and power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a single plate dry clutch plate and drive shaft. the differential the company is using here is open type differential which is easy to repair and maintain. so Innva crysta is a rear-wheel drive MPV.

Crysta’s diesel engine develops 150Ps of power and 360 nm of torque. and you can feel all the torque when you drive the car like engaging the car in first gear and just releasing the clutch and dont pressing the accelerator 360 nm of torque alone moves the car without input from the accelerator.

And this car is also very popular here in India among taxi operators and no car in this segment can match the performance. It’s a highway cruiser and it can cruise up to 120 kmph continually without any problem and can achieve a top speed above 160 km/h.

That is why people love Innova? it feels solid when you drive it on bad roads due to its ladder frame chassis and remains stable at high speed. if you love driving you will really like this car. and from this car, you can expect up to 15km/l mileage from this car. and the engine of Innova can last up to 5 lakh kilometres.

Besides this, its interior quality is great and the top model ZX is loaded with features and a Toyota service centre you can find anywhere in India. yes, it’s an expensive vehicle but its build quality is really great and you can drive this car for more than 3 lakh kilometres.

I prefer the Crysta GX model because its price starts from Rs 19.99 lakh and it comes with alloy wheels and touch screen infotainment system and electrically adjustable ORVM etc and this model is best if your budget is low or if want to buy Innova crysta.

On the other hand, the Innova Crysta is a car that has powerful performance due to its diesel engine and ladder frame construction it offers great highway performance. and it has decent luxury features but has less space as compared to hycross. so if you love driving a car and want to use that car for Taxi purposes then buy Crysta.
