XUV500 Get Stylish & Feature Loaded SUV (Discontinued). this SUV was discontinued by 2020. and the reason of discontinue this SUV was Mahindra was developing a new more advanced SUV known as Mahindra XUV700. yes, this SUV is more appealing and powerful than the XUV500.

Introduction (Wikipedia)

• Mahindra XUV500 is a compact SUV produced by Mahindra Automobiles.
• This Car is designed & manufactured in India. (Watch the Design process).
• XUV500 was first launched in 2011 & still in production.
• It also came with ALL-WHEEL DRIVE & automatic transmission system.
• XUV receive the first facelift in 2015 & the second facelift in 2018.

Design exterior (Front) Mahindra XUV500

• Mahindra XUV500 is inspired by cheetah you will find some design elements on the front & side of the car.
• In 2018 XUV receive a facelift & now available in automatic transmission as well.
• Mahindra has changed the design of the XUV front grill to look modern.

• The new front has chrome inserts to make it look bold & premium.
• And also there is enough space on the front bumper to cool the engine.
• Besides this headlights are also newly designed & come with a static bending function.
• This car comes with a Follow-me-Home function. It’s a headlight feature.

• After turning the ignition off headlamps stays on to guide you for a short time.
• You will get LED DRLs with projectors. These headlights have an auto On/Off feature.
• It means headlights get turned on automatically when the sensor detects dark.
• You will find some XUV300 design elements in XUV500 like fog lamps.
• You will get a Cheetah Tear-Duct design front fog lamp with a halogen bulb.
• The front car looks muscular & I love the imposing stance.
• Mahindra XUV500 also comes with an Automatic wiper very helpful on rainy days.

Side Design Mahindra XUV500

• The side design of the car remains the same as before.
• ORVMs of the XUV are electronically Adjustable & foldable with integrated turn Indicators.
• In addition to this underneath of ORVMs, you will get Puddle lamps.

• Mahindra XUV500 has big muscular wheel arcs that make it looks wider.
• And those wheel arcs cover 235/60 R18 diamond cut alloy wheels.

• You might be wondering about XUVs door handle because they look different from others.
• Let me tell you the Door handles of this car are inspired by Cheetah’s paws.
• On the other hand, XUV500 comes with Stylish Chrome Side Cladding.
• But I don’t like the design of the fender of this car & they are made up of plastic.

Rear Design Mahindra XUV

• The rear portion of the car is a newly designed Mahindra.
• On the tailgate, you will get stylish Chrome Applique above no plate.
• In addition to this stylish tailgate & split tail lamps give XUV500 a stylish touch.

• Taillights are not LED units sadly you will get halogen bulbs.
• In addition to this, you have a rear Wash, wipe & Defogger for your convenience.
• Other features are rear parking sensors & a camera with dynamic assist.

• My favourite design element is dual exhaust pipes. I love it.

Interior Design of Mahindra XUV

• XUV looks bigger from the outside as well as the inside.
• It’s a seven-seater SUV which means it has a third row.

• Let’s talk about the front seats they are comfortable & 6-way adjustable as well.
• All seats in XUV500 are of premium, Quilted, tan leather seats available only on top models.
• Now, the dashboard & door are wrapped in soft-touch faux leather with fine stitches lines.

• Although quality, fit & finish is not good in this car. And the dashboard looks outdated.
• As compared to TATA HARRIER & JEEP COMPASS. They have premium quality interiors.
• Besides this XUV500 has an 18 cm touch screen infotainment system with Arkamys sound system.
• You also have Android Auto & Apple car play with the Mahindra Blue Sense app.

• In the second row, you have lots of space enough with headroom & legroom.
• To make you feel good XUV500 comes with an electric sunroof with an anti-pinch function.

• Other convenient feature is keyless entry, a push-button start engine & USB slots.
• All four windows are powered & large and give you a good outside view.
• The third row of this car is only suitable for children. & you will get tiny boot space.

• But when you fold the third row you will get a good amount of boot space.
• I must say interiors need a new design it doesn’t feel upmarket like its competitors.

• It’s a spacious car and now comes with more modern features & offers 7 seats.
• And the top model you will get an automatic gearbox.
• Besides this XUV can give you 15 km/l millage.
• Really valuable or money car.
• But in my opinion, Tata Harrier & Tata Safari is better than Mahindra XUV.
• Looks modern good quality interiors and has a powerful 170hp engine.
• And xuv 500 is discontinued by mahindra.

I like

• Punchy Diesel engine.
• Spacious cabin.
• Loaded with features.
• Flat floor 2^nd

I don’t like

• Low 160mm ground clearance.
• Interior quality.
