Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Why It Remains a Top Choice for Riders?
The 2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 continues to shine as a versatile and stylish motorcycle in India, blending retro charm with modern performance.
It features a 648cc parallel-twin engine producing 47.65 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque, delivering smooth and robust power across its six-speed gearbox.
Ideal for both city rides and highway cruising, it achieves a mileage of about 22-25 km/l.

In terms of design, the bike maintains its classic aesthetic with updated colour options like Mark 2 Chrome, Black Ray, and Barcelona Blue.
The introduction of alloy wheels in specific variants adds to its practicality and appeal. The dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, and Pirelli tyres enhance safety and performance, while the USB charging port adds a modern touch.
However, it falls short on tech features compared to competitors, lacking a gear position indicator and navigation system.
Comfort is reasonable with upright ergonomics, but the seat padding could improve for long rides. At a starting price of approximately ₹3.03 lakh (ex-showroom),
the Interceptor 650 is an excellent entry into the middleweight segment, offering solid value for its price.

Design Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 2022 # HD Images#

- Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 is a retro-styled bike design for city & highway cruising.
- On the other hand, the RE Interceptor 650 is an affordable 650 cc bike priced ₹ 3.03 Lakh.
- From front to rear, you will see lots of retro styling elements in the bike.

- So upfront we have a rounded halogen-equipped headlight with chrome treatment around.
- The thing I didn’t like about Interceptor 650 is it still does not have LED lights.
- In addition to this, the turn indicators also come with a halogen bulb.

- In a similar case at the rear ordinary halogen taillights and turn indicators come with it.
- The nice thing about the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is you can’t tell difference between BS6 & BS4.
- Now the thing I really like about Interceptor 650 is its dual exhaust pipes.

- I have been a big fan of dual-exhaust bikes since I saw the Suzuki Hayabusa & Yezdi bikes.
- Now Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes with a twin-pod Analog speedometer & RPM Meter.
- That shows all the basic information about the bike but I wish RE had added tripper Navigation to the Interceptor bike.
- And fuel tank is a nice oval shape with space for hiding knees for comfort.

- Adding more comfort to the bike is its tube-type handle that gives an upright position good for long rides.
- But one thing I don’t like about Interceptor 650 is its seats not comfortable.
- And Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 gets lots of chrome treatment around.

- And chassis can be visible from the outside & the front & rear fender is short to give sporty look.
- At last, I want to say it’s a nice bike in terms of performance & design.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 performance & Mileage

- Interceptor 650 BS6 is powered by a 648 cc parallel-twin air/oil-cooled engine.
- Offering very useable 47 horsepower at 7150 RPM & 52 Nm torque at 5250 RPM.
- This engine is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox that is nice & smooth.
- This 648 cc engine is built for real-world riding, with sufficient power for city & highway use.

- A twin throttle-body paired to a highly precise Bosh fuel injection system.
- And EMS tune results in excellent throttle response throughout the rev range.
- Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 Mileage is 24.80 kmpl in the city & 34.66 kmpl on the highway.
- And RE Interceptor BS4 mileage was 23.5 kmpl in the city & 33.3 kmpl on the highway.
- And Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Top speed is 163 km/h as tested.

RE Enfield Interceptor 650 Chassis, Suspension & Brakes.

- Interceptor 650 is really nice to ride & handle and even at a max speed of 163 kmph, it remains stable.
- Behind this nice handling is a tubular steel frame with bolted trussing.
- Interceptor 650 bs6 has 41 mm front telescopic forks with 110 mm travel.
- In my opinion, the company should upgrade to USD forks to enhance the ride quality.

- And at the rear, we have twin coil-over shocks, with 88 mm suspension travel.
- These suspensions absorb bumps efficiently to keep you comfortable.
- And Royal Enfield interceptor Ground Clearance is 174 mm great for bad roads.

My opinion about the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650
- Interceptor 650 is a great touring bike & can be used in the city.
- And I love its retro styling but it still missing some modern features like Tripper Navigator & LED lights.

- And the seats of the Interceptor are not comfortable & I don’t like the shape of the seat as well.
- Otherwise, the bike is really awesome under 4 lakh rupees it’s a nice bike.
- Triumph street twin, Ninja Z650, KTM Duke 390, Bajaj Dominar 400 & Triumph Trident.
- These bikes offer some features that Interceptor doesn’t have but they are expensive as well.
