• The Mahindra Jeep Thar is a compact four-wheel drive-off-road SUV manufactured by M&M India.
• Mahindra Jeep’s first generation was launched in 2010 with a diesel engine.
• But as I am watching around me Second Generation 2020 Mahindra That LX getting even more popular.
• Apart from that Mahindra has added new petrol and diesel engine with it.
• Speaking of price Mahindra jeep Price starts from ₹13,533,70/- to ₹14,238,9/- lakh.

Mahindra Thar LX “Hard-Top & Convertible” Review 2023

• This LX model is the top model of the Thar SUV and it’s available in Hard-Top & Soft Top.
• And I must tell you when I saw this new 2020 Thar only one thing came to my mind.
• Mahindra has copied the design from the world-famous Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

• Yes, I am saying this because Thar looks exactly the same as Rubicon.
• And I guess that’s why it’s getting popular nowadays everyone is buying it.
• But I must say if you love off-road SUVs you should buy this car.

• Now have a look at what Mahindra has changed in this revolutionary car.
• Like it has retained its 6-slot iconic front grille with two round headlamps.
• These headlamps are still equipped with a halogen bulb it would be better if it was LED.

• Besides this Thar sports, a new pair of fender-mounted LED DRL that gives an extra visual appearance from the front.
• And this Mahindra jeep gets a new purpose-built bumper that has some kind of paint to prevent scratches.
• This new age of Thar looks wider than the previous one and more attractive.

• Now moving on to the side this time Mahindra has introduced new modern alloy wheels.
• And trust me these R18 inches alloy wheels make all the difference.
• Visible door hinges, Muscular wheel arches, and larger windows make it look sporty.

• In the Mahindra Thar LX, you will get the hard top and convertible rooftop as an option.
• Now let’s check the rear, spare wheel got its space on the tailgate that opens sideways.
• The All-new that’s LED taillights enhance visibility & their stylish retro look is sure to catch your eye anywhere you go.

Mahindra Thar LX Colors

• Now here comes my and everyone’s favorite part colors I love the Thar in Red Rage color.
• Apart from that Mahindra is offering a total of six exciting colors names.
• Rocky Beige, Aqua Marine, Mystic Copper, Red Rage, Napoli Black, and Galaxy Grey.
• Among all these colours Napoli’s black colour is popular here in India.
• But I like Mahindra Thar LX in Aquamarine & Mystic Cooper colour.
• And it would be good if Mahindra introduced sand military colours.

Mahindra That LX interiors

• Now Mahindra jeep Thar took a huge step toward having modern interiors.
• And again Mahindra Thar LX looks as if it’s copied from the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
• Well just like the exterior and the interiors also feels solid as it should after all it’s an off-road car.

• And this interior is designed to give you comfort and convenience as per your desire.
• And Mahindra Thar LX interiors feature a Roll cage that helps to save your life during an unexpected accident.
• Let’s talk about seats, especially front seats that have body-hugging counters to keep you comfortably planted during bumpy rides.

• Rear seats are also comfortable but I don’t think more than 3 people remain comfortable on them.
• And front seats need to fold to get inside the car and less leg room could be a problem.
• Moving on to steering it’s powered and can be adjusted tilt-wise to suit your need.

• And some steering-mounted audio & phone controls are available with the LX model.
• I know most of eager to know what kind of infotainment system we are going to get into Thar.
• So let me tell you about a 17.8 cm touch screen with a navigation system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.

• Featured in this car now the strange thing is speakers are mounted on their roof.
• Instead of mounted on the doors the reason behind it is when you are wading into the water.
• This means that when you are crossing river water, can quickly come inside the car and speakers can damage it.

• So that is why speakers are placed on the roof & below it the Air conditioner controls can be seen.
• Apart from that, only the front doors have power windows & buttons are placed on the centre console.
• Now I am going to tell you one thing that most people don’t know about it.

• Its two gear knobs one gear knob is for changing the gear and another shorter knob is to engage four-wheel drive.
• This shorter gear knob has 2H, 4H, 4L & N marking on it I will explain it later.
• Another useful feature of Mahindra Thar LX is its washable floor.
• Yes, you remove the floor mat easily and wash the floor and there is a drain plug on the floor to remove the water.
• Apart from that for your convenience, I have shown some interior pictures of Mahindra Thar LX.

Mahindra Thar LX Performance

• Let’s check what Mahindra is offering under the hood of Thar LX.
• Now I am happy to see that company is offering two powerful engines.
• Its mHawk 130 diesel engine and stallion 150 TGDI petrol
• Both these engines are made to put a smile on your face when you tap the throttle.
• Thar LX mHawk engine is a 2184 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged direct injection diesel engine.

• That delivers a healthy 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque & is available with 6-speed MT/AT.
• On the other hand stallion, 150 TGDI is a 1997 cc 4-cylinder engine direct injection turbo petrol engine.
• This TGDI engine delivers 150 Hp and 300 NM of torque available with 6 Speed AT/MT gearbox.
• Both diesel and petrol perform really well on the highway and in the city.
• And mileage delivered by Mahindra Thar is 15 kmpl as per user opinion.

• Now the suspension is really great no matter what kind of road is.
• Mahindra Jeep Thar is able to tackle any kind of road you through at it.
• And Mahindra Thar LX’s ground clearance is 226 mm which is more than enough to take off-road.
• Besides this Mahindra, Thar LX has a 41.8 Deg Approach angle, 36 Deg departure angle & 27 Deg Ramp over angle.

• Mahindra Thar’s mileage claimed by ARAI is currently not revealed.
• But as tested Thar diesel delivers 12 kmpl in the city and 12.6 on the highway.
• And Thar Automatic diesel delivers 11.3 kmpl and 11.5 kmpl in the city and on the highway.
• On the other hand the Mahindra Thar petrol with an automatic gearbox.
• Delivers 7 kmpl mileage in the city and 9.3 kmpl on the highway.

• Our favourite Mahindra Thar LX is also available in a Convertible soft top.
• And it looks exactly the same as Mahindra Thar LX Diesel CT At.
• The nice thing about this convertible model is you can actually feel the atmosphere on the go.

• It gives you a different driving experience although convertible models also get a roll cage.
• To ensure maximum safety of the passengers in any kind of situation.

• One more thing I forgot to mention is Mahindra Jeep door can be removed.
• Just like the jeep wrangler Rubicon to make it more lightweight.

• In my opinion, the Mahindra Jeep is probably the best affordable off-roader in the country.
• And its cabin comfort is far better than the previous one.
• Yes, you cannot travel with more than 4 people in this car.
• Because it is designed to go off-road, not on-road.
