On the other hand, a French car manufacturer called Citroën launched a Coupe SUV Basalt along with an attractive design and competitive price tag.

This Coupe SUV not only looks attractive but pocket-friendly and as this car is affordable it will not get some advanced features we will talk about it later in this blog.

So let’s talk about the front facia of Citroën Basalt Coupé SUV here you will get a front body colour bumper & this bumper has two horizontal grills with chrome and piano finish treatment and on the lower side of the bumper, two halogen-based fog lights are provided.

Besides this, the signature front grill, and chevron logo are similar to other Citroen basalt models where headlights are of LED type. headlights are equipped with a single projector logo for low/high beams. above the headlight, there is an LED DRL fitted with a halogen turn indicator.

this type of headlight design is called split-type headlights. The Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV looks muscular due to its curves and creases. when you look at it from the side the rear floating roof design attracts more.

On the other hand, ORVMs are auto-foldable and can be adjusted electrically. moving on to the rear you have a coupe-like roof slope, steep rear glass and a slightly raised tailgate creating a sporty hence attractive look.

adding more attractiveness to the rear it has 3D design taillights and dual tone rear bumper giving an rugged SUV appearance. overall, the design is attractive.

Its design makes people look again and again due to its coupe look and still many people aren’t aware of this car’s makeup. and I believe due to insufficient advertisement buyers are hesitant to invest their money in it.

But Citroen is providing 24X7 roadside assistance and increasing more dealerships in India to provide good service. this is the place where Tata Curvv has an advantage. and I believe that Tata Curvv is going to beat the Citroen basalt.

One thing I have to say the interior of the Citroën Basalt Coupé SUV is not going to let you down yes it does miss some high-tech features but it gives you some useful features.

I like the dashboard design, especially the AC vents look attractive. AC system is automatic here in the Citroen basalt and its control can be seen below the touch screen.

Besides this, Citroen basalt has a wireless phone charging system that is below AC controls. & In addition to this charging ports and a 12V socket are provided to power and charge your electric devices.

Moving on to steering it’s electrically powered and wrapped in leather to give you a good hand feel & you have a Menu, call and audio control buttons.

Now moving on to the Instrument cluster which is fully digital and shows a speedometer, trip meter, Distance to empty, Average fuel consumption, gear shift indicator, etc it’s a 17.78 colour TFT digital cluster.

And when you see on the extreme right side of the dashboard where you turn the key to start the engine, headlights levelling, ORVM adjusting knob is provided. Talking about windows here in this top model you will get all power windows.

All four windows have one touchdown feature. on the driver’s side door you will get a button for all windows and the rear windows has a separate button to operate.

Now let’s talk about the seating comfort seats are made up of leatherette and the base model has fabric seats. but seats are manually adjustable you slide them and height is adjustable as well.

And between the front seats, there is an armrest that can be slide and you can store your things as well. The talking rear seats are comfortable and come with adjustable thigh support, a centre armrest, and a cup holder.

The thing that taller guys will dont like is limited headroom due to coupe design headroom reduced and the same problem comes with the Tata Curvv as well.

So it has decent storage space. and talking about practicality Citroen basalt has good legroom headroom up front. but at the rear due to the slope of the roof, some headroom has reduced if you are a tall guy your head will touch the roof.

And if you are a short-height guy then you will be comfortable. This coupe has descent 180 mm ground clearance which is ok if you drive alone.

But if you have a couple of passengers with luggage you need to be extra careful over tall speed breakers. otherwise, it’s a practical car.

The petrol engine Citreon uses a 3-cylinder 1199 cc capacity. This engine has two options one is turbo and the second one is naturally aspirated

Whereas turbocharged engine develops 110PS power and 190 nm torque with a 6-speed MT gearbox and if you course 6 Speed AT you will get 205 nm torque.

On the other hand, Naturally, the aspirate engine develops 82PS power and 115 nm torque with a 5-speed MT gearbox. the power is sent to the front wheels so the Citroen Basalt coupe SUV is a front wheel drive car.

During the test, the Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV feels good its suspension is good enough to take broken roads and it has 180 mm ground clearance which helps you to clear most of the speed bumps easily.

On the other hand, if you drive it on twisty roads car doesn’t get off the line and doesn’t roll much which is a good thing.

Besides this, the steering feel is great it’s an electrically powered unit that can be tilt adjusted. moving on to brakes you have disc brakes up front and the drum at the rear performs well.

This car is decently quick 0-100 comes in 9.2 seconds you will get decent acceleration don’t expect hard-core acceleration because it’s a 3-cylinder unit. the engine feels happy when you are cruising upto 100 km/h.

Drive it using a light foot and get the best performance from it.

The car was driven with light throttle input and AC was turned on and no passenger was inside the car. you can expect more mileage on the way.
